Community Safety Officers
(CSO)
Community Safety Officers are civilian volunteers that perform general to complex and responsible paraprofessional duties in a nonsworn
capacity in support of the Pueblo County Sheriff Office operations, services, and functions including but not
limited to the areas of patrol, traffic, community policing, records, front-desk, investigations, crime lab,
and program or project implementation and management. Community Safety Officers work closely with and provides support to
sworn duputies to relieve sworn deputies of technical law enforcement related duties in the field and
office. Community Safety Officers perform a variety of other duties based on the needs of the agency including those related to
special assignments.
